Check it in
Okay, one more idea for an improved public transport chipcard. What if you want to pay the fare for your date? The current system requires everyone to check in and out individually. Those damned bureaucrats must have forgotten all about romance and good manners. And what about your luddite uncle? Or visiting friend from abroad?
Here’s an easy, one-button solution (that doesn’t affect the way single people check in and out, btw).

Here’s a not-so-revolutionary check-in point. Notice the button on top and the logo softly glowing through the casing.

You press the ‘+’ to initiate multiple-people-on-one-card-mode…

…and once more for the cute brunette that’s coming along. Pressing twice for two people seems the logical choice, and this way an accidental press of the ‘+’ doesn’t matter for single travellers. Press again for 3, and again for 4 people obviously.

And voilá! You check in as usual by swiping your card. A reassuring green blip of the silhouettes says all is well. Off to the movies you go.
